Krystle, Ignacio and Emilio visited St. James on August 31st. Krystle’s message was wonderful as she tied the scriptures of the day to their missionary work in Argentina with Young Adults in Global Mission. After the service we had a relaxed time sharing conversation and a light breakfast. It was great to meet Emilio in person!
Sixteen people plus the pastor worked on the Appalachia donations throughout the day on Monday. Doors opened at 8am, and folks would come and go as their schedules allowed. The morning included a 3 year old, who helped carry items to their locations, and in the evening four older children came and worked really hard to fold and place the clothing items. Here is one of them taking a “fun break”! The 2nd picture below is what the Sunday School room looked like at the end of the night. Thank you to everyone who helped on Monday!
Please stop by the church to offer your help in folding, sorting and packing all the items we have received for Appalachia. The church will be open from 8am until 9pm Monday and Tuesday, and 8am until ?? on Wednesday. If needed, we will be there on Thursday as well. You are welcomed to drop by for an hour or however long you can help. Every little bit of help is a huge blessing!
The community of Geigertown and surrounding areas has been amazingly generous! THANK YOU to all who donated items!
Check back on Monday night to see what the Sunday School room looks like by then!
Below are the “non-clothing” items that have been donated. 😊

This will be a wonderful evening for children from Kindergarten through 5th grade, led by Janet Albright, who is the teacher of the Little Homeschoolers program. There will be story time, craft projects and an outreach opportunity – a collection of new socks for Appalachia. Cookies and beverages will be provided. Several adults with child clearances will be assisting with the activities during the evening.
